Vol. I · Printed on Ethereum · One front page a day

The Last Thesis

The front page is for sale.

A newspaper you bid on. Every day the front page goes to auction: the highest bid writes tomorrow’s headline, wins the pot, and owns the page as a one-of-one NFT. 730 editions, then the presses stop.

Five steps

From the bid to the archive
  1. I

Today’s front page was won last night.

Every day, the paper shows one front page: the thesis that won the auction at the last press. It stays up, alone, until the next press. While it’s up, the next front page is being bid for.

  2. II

Bid for tomorrow’s with a thesis.

Write one line on why ETH goes up and bid in ETH. A bid is a buy: 5% goes to the pot, the rest buys $THESIS at the going price, and the tokens are yours, win or lose. To take the lead, beat the top bid by 10%. Leading during the day gives you nothing yet: only the bid that holds at the press counts.

  3. III

At the press, the highest bid wins the next day.

At 20:00 UTC, the leading thesis becomes the front page for the whole next day, its author claims the pot, and the page is printed as a one-of-one NFT, drawn entirely on-chain. Then a fresh auction opens, from 0.01 ETH, for the day after.

  4. IV

    Resell it. Sign it.

Front pages trade like any NFT, here or anywhere. Every new owner can add one line under the headline, in red: the newest shows on the page, every line stays on-chain.

  5. V

    730 editions. Then it’s over.

One front page a day, 730 in all. After the last one, the presses stop for good.

A specimen front page

What a front page looks like.

The winning thesis as the headline, the date it went to press, the winner and the bid, and later the red line each new owner adds. Every page is drawn by the contract itself and minted to its winner as a one-of-one.

Nobody can pause the paper, change the rules or touch the pot. Winnings are collected straight from the contract.
